Nature to Action

From Appreciation to Action

A student-led initiative exploring how our connection to nature can inspire environmental stewardship.

Our mission is simple:
Understand. Educate. Act

UNDERSTAND

We study the connection between people’s appreciation of nature and their action to protect it.

EDUCATE

We turn research into engaging lessons and resources for students and community.

ACT

We inspire and empower people to take small steps that create a big impact.

IT STARTED WITH A QUESTION.

What inspires people to protect the places they care about?

A student-led initiative exploring how our connection to nature can inspire environmental stewardship.

RESEARCH WAS THE BEGINNING

ABOUT

A Student with a Purpose

Nature to Action was founded by Cooper Kim, a high school student in New York City with an interest in environmental science, community engagement, and the relationship between people and the natural places around them.

His research began in Prospect Park, a place that inspired him to ask a simple question:
what makes people want to protect the places they value?
